AMMP Signature Series

The Alam Madina Music Productions label was founded by Ali Akbar Khan in 1997. Most of the cassettes and CD issued featured Ali Akbar Khan, but one cassette, subsequently reissued on CD, features AAK in duet with Nikhil Banerjee.

"The "Signature Series" is Ustad Ali Akbar Khan's collective works from the legendary Connoisseur Society. They originally were recorded in the 60's by David Jones on 1/2 inch 2-channel tape operating at 30ips using Sony C37 microphones and Ampex tape machines with custom-build vacuum recording electronics and mixer."

For many years some regarded these as the finest recordings of Indian music ever made.
